The Consideration of Future Consequences Scale (CFC)

Do you think about the consequences of your actions before you act? More specifically, do you think about the future consequences? You are probably wondering what the difference is between a ‘consequence’ (something that happens in the future) and a ‘future consequence’. Me too. Perhaps an example will give us some idea:

Q 8: I think it is more important to perform a behavior with important distant consequences than a behavior with less-important immediate consequences

Nope. But I think my answer would be 2 (“somewhat uncharacteristic”).

Which means that it is somewhat uncharacteristic of me to think it is more important to perform a behavior with important distant consequences than a behavior with less-important immediate consequences.

I hope that’s clear now.

Technical point: I still can’t understand the question. Or my response. But it probably won’t matter in the long run.
